Just to confirm I've been encountering similar sounding problems quite a bit over the past few days. At first I thought it was maybe my PC or ISP, but I've found similar problems on two of my my home PCs and (tsk tsk) my work PC too. I hope this feedback is helpful. I'll see if I can replicate the message I've been getting. Meanwhile this would probably also be a good time to say Bert, Ernie, thanks for the effort you both clearly put into this site. It's probably a a bit of a thankless task most of the time, but it is appreciated. Cheers

Edit:

Got the error to repeat (on a different PC to the one acting up a few minutes ago, albeit on the same connection). When opening the home page, the right hand side of the screen (Forum stats, latest links, past articles etc.) is missing and the following error message sits under the galleries bit.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 10388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 65537 bytes) in /home/iwindsurfuk/public_html/modules/gallery/util.php on line 342

we've had this one before I think Bert usually contacts the site hosts and requests some extra memory. I'm sure he'll fill us in as to progress

Hi Guy's

Thanks for the post - I can't get the problem to happen on my machine !

Ernie is right we've had that error before but normally when I've made an alteration like updating the software or something but I've not touched anything this time !

It can also be when the server is very busy (It's not just this website on the server)

I'll keep looking and try to make sure - let me know if it keeps playing up

Thanks again,

Bert

Hi Shawn - sorry to hear about all those errors !!

I updated the gallery software last night and I no longer get those errors - are you ?

I'll look into the login error.

When I do a search on dahab it runs great, even picks up this post....

This link may show you the results better ?

These memory errors tend to be on the server therefore should be independant of our different PC's/software etc. I worry that it's just a factor of the cheap hosting I can afford !

In which case I beg you to stay with me until one us wins the lottery and can afford to bung me a few quid to host the site on a dedicated server or similar !
