Hi everyone,

Today was not a great day for sailing. The wind was from the West and South West and was generally Force 2 - 3, it was up and down all afternoon but got steadier after 5pm when a more constant Force 3 settled in giving better sailing for Dave Whiteley and John Dyson on their 'big rigs'. It was warm and sunny all afternoon.

It was a perfect day for all of the learners on the 'Gybe Scheme' who were trying their hands at sailing Laser Picos and windsurfing using the mini rigs. It was good to see the children having such a great time on the water. What would they be doing if they weren't at Grimwith, sailing and windsurfing?

Looking at the forecast, it will be more of the same tomorrow. At least it should be very pleasant even if it is not exhilerating.

Ian.

We ended up sailing till about 6.30 - the sun was out and it was a great summers day. I would have said that there was a fair bit of F4 around. A good day for cruising. We first hit the water about 1.00pm & were probably planing half the time.
