Bloody council management officials.

Who do they think they are the non elected no-mark b******s to be deciding where anyone can sail/windsurf/kitesurf without any consultation with anybody apart from the twitcher comunity who only have one goal in mind - ban every thing that has more than two legs and dosn't have feathers.

They might ban kids from taking spades onto parts of the beach next in case they dig some holes that somebody might twist their ankle in (looking through binoculars instead of where there going).

As for "owning" the beach IMHO councils shouldn't be allowed to own anything coz' in most cases they will only f**k it up.

i believe that as long as kitesurfers, windsurfers and other water users stick together we will be o.k. There is no way they can reinforce the restriction.

I have two dogs and have to admit that they like chasing things away and running all over the place, will they ban dog walking? What about people, they will also disturbe the birds, are they going to ban walkers?

Lastly, what about bird watchers, do their lenses scare birds? Whatever happen to common sense!! Once the birds get used to the water users they will be O.K.

What a bunch of w##kers. We have just spent the last six months persuading learner kiters to stay out of everyone's way , down by the golf course .Only to be hearded like catle, back up to the lake.Kn##heads.On more than one occasion ,stuey and myself have spoken to the Ranger, suggesting that we meet for a discussion, over How best to zone the sailing area so as to minimise risk of injury and also please the " Nazi Twitchers"only to be informed that there was nothing to worry about.Of course ,by hearding everyone up to the lake ,there is more chance of an incident involving a learner kiter and a windsurfer , which is what we have been trying to avoid. If a discussion had taken place ,he would have been told that leaner kiters ,drift Downwind,Kiters in trouble ,go Downwind and if the wind drops and we are underpowered we go , you guessed it , Downwind. So , if you see the Ranger, please point out the error of his ways.t#at ,f##ker,p#ick.......need alcohol, need alcohol....aaahhhhhhh

well, bought a buggy for low tide, BANNED. Bought a kite for high tide, BANNED!!!

looks like I need to buy a horse, a football, a big dog, a stunt kite or a football shirt and 12cans of stella then I can enjoy the natural beauty of west Kirby!!

Will green van man be given a green boat to police this or will we have a waiting committee when we land the kite.

have never been restricted when windsurfing so what difference with the kite?

I for one will still put the safety of my son and other people before the wildlife on the estuary.

Expected restrictions for safety not wildlife, have never yet buggied or sailed through a flock of birds, perhaps the odd big bastard seagull but then no one likes them, a little like the water users of West Kirby.

As you've probably seen in the papers and on the news (for the wrong reasons) the cockle beds have been opened this week for cocklers to come from far and wide to "dig up". We reckon there was over 200 people, well over 50 inflatable boats, and 3 huge traulers, all sitting on the tide line as the tide went out today.

Interesting, as the report about the effects of kitesurfing says the disturbances are down to "approximately 12 kiters".

Imagine what sort of effect does all the cockling have on the birds and local ecosystem? A little less than 12 kiters me thinks.
