I know we're all desparate to get out....so I have been! Yesterday afternoon I sailed on the Menai Straights for a couple of hours on a 5.5m, 15-20 knots. The location just south of Caenarfon. Location 458 617 to be precise on an OS map. Park on the grass about 150yds past the cottage/slipway. In a ENE wind this spot works just like Llanfairfechan does in a BF3 SW, it accelerates the breeze through the straights to a BF4-5. This is especially so when its warm and sunny as per yesterday. Unlike Llan its not a long walk to the waters edge on low tide. Looking at the forecast for this week there's a good chance of getting a sail in .....shame I'll be at work!
