National Windsurfing Week. What is going on! 16 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
Things are advancing very quickly on this. Take a look at the homepage and register if you want to get involved.

http://www.nationalwindsurfingweek.org

This months Boards mag features an article all about what is going on.

Starboard have kindly posted details of the instructors draw. The draw is open to any RYA instructors who do taster lessons during the week. Tushingham are kindly giving the winner a free sail of their choice.

There are many more prizes in the pipeline for new sailors, clubs, instructors etc. Details to come soon.

If you have anything to offer for this week then get in touch through the website. If you have any media contacts, get in touch. Tell your friends, local shops, windsurfing clubs, workmates and anyone else you meet in the street to go windsurfing.

Many centres are offering free taster sessions during the week so find out if your local centre asre doing so. If they are not then persuade them to do so. If they are then help them out by telling everyone you meet.

If you need posters then get in touch and we will do our best to get you some.

Windsurfing Weekend 10&11th May 2008

As part of national windsurfing week WPSC is organising a weekend of windsurfing activity – there will be something for everyone whether you’re a first timer, a regular sailor or coming back to the sport.
Anybody can have a go at the events – the only serious racing will be the NWWA racing on Sunday – and they’re a friendly if competitive crowd so you could give that a go too!

Saturday

o Fun competition – Speed, slalom racing, light wind freestyle, paddle race - depending on the wind
o Windsurfing “car-boot sale” – buy, sell and swap your gear
o Formal and informal coaching
o BBQ
o Live band
o Overnight camping available – Free to members and day visitors

Sunday

o NWWA racing - www.nwwa.org.uk
o Formal and informal coaching
o Windsurfing “car-boot sale” – buy, sell and swap your gear

Nice one Sharkey.

The North is a little quiet on the events list. It would be great to see more such as this
