I was told recently that there's going to be a weather station similar to the bidston observatory built very nearby anyway (I think it was Ernie who told me). That would solve the problem.

Know any more yet Ern?

I'm still without wetsuit and getting mighty mighty p!$$ed off!

Well, I must admit that I spent 'nuff time looking at the webcam at first, but found after a while i got a better Idea of the weather from the bidston site.

Although I would not be adverse to some small contribution to the cam I think it's a question of priorities, and would rather donate to the continued upkeep of this site (especially as Ernie and Bert obviously DON'T do it for the potential of earning money) before looking at contributing to the cam.

Others may disagree????

Bert and I agreed from the start we would not charge directly for the ue of this site and we still have this philosophy.

That being said Bert pay's for most of the hosting....etc from his own pocket and is consequently finanially 'down'.

We have thought of T-shirt and Mugs, sail stickers, affiliates schemes etc. but to get the kind of quality you want to be associated with you have to invest serious wonga up front. e.g sail stickers were working out 10 a shot to break even!!! Mugs and T-shirt's weren't of great quality...etc

Time is the main issue. As we are both between jobs at the moment (Bert external &through illness, me Internal xfer) we've had a little extra time on the site but this will not be the case in the summer (hopefully we'll be on the water!)

So any ideas to generate cash for the site -gratefully received!
