The biggest summer low in a long time gave gale force Northerlies overnight and through the day of the 8th resulting in BIG swells rolling down the Camel estuary and a perfect side shore wind from the right at Daymer. Lots of people turned out nearly all of us went out too big and came in to change down. A bit of a survival test really but the awesome sight ofthe swells kicking up off the bar then wrapping round into the bay made it a real experience and a day to remember. I was just pleased to have been there and sailed it - I wouldn't normally rate a big wind day highly as I'm not a fan of big winds but this day was a one off.
