So I've moved back north from the big smoke to start work over in Liverpool, well I work at Crosby Marina to be exact. Anyway I got off work early and thought I'd try out the water as the condition lloked good if not a little cold.
I was very pleasantly surpirsed, the wind was true, the size and shape of the lake allow good runs in all wind directions and most importantly the quality of the water was great after everything I'd heard about the place. If that was everything positive about the place I'd finish there but.....
Now the sales pitch, I do have a vested interest in the NEW £11 million centre being a sucess but let me tell you what it has to offer. So I went for my sail and got a little cold, no surprise there but unlike most other venues I popped inside the build got a cup of tea in my wetsuit, sat down at a table and warmed up before venturing back onto the water. The changing rooms are large, warm with hot showers and no paint flaking off the wall. Finally its cheap, well relatively to West Kirby, an annual membership is £85:00, £15 for a month, £10 for a day or £5 for an evening. How civilised....
The centre is not fully open yet but by the end of May you'll be able to bring the significant other and the kids the bar will be open for coffee, food, etc and the adventure playground is a stones throw away.
