OK, schoolboy error. I'd got too excited about the forecast and the tide, and chose the board for the conditions I wanted rather than the conditions that actually existed. So, spend 45 mins wobbling around on my 95L board with about 10 seconds planing. Even the big fat seal that surfaced next to me was laughing at how crap I was. Learned my lesson, went in and slipped onto something more comfortable.
