Having binned my Sunday morning lie-in to arrive in time for high tide, it was pretty frustrating to find the promised wind failed to arrive with the tide. I tuned up on the lake and wallowed around for a bit. Then when the guys on the tide started to plane regularly I moved out to join them, and spent a frustrating half hour being teased by brief gusts and then standing around again. Then the wind finally came and it was glorious. The sun was out for much of the time and the wind was great for blasting from the yacht club end of the lake up to the edge of the birdie zone by Little Eye. It was great to see a few ear-to-ear grins on the faces of some of the other guys too (maybe that was just in respect of my crashes though). Then back onto the lake for some blasting and some pretty frustrating gaps in the wind. Good to see so many youngsters out and enjoying themselves too, even though they did cause me a few old git mutterings under my breath when they went flying past me as I struggled to get going in the gaps. Hats off to the T15 gang.
