Weymouth Bay is a shallow water natural harbour, shallow at high tide and even shallower at low tide
. This is an excellent venue for those who are new to the sport and if you get blown out to sea, youll only hit the harbour wall. Winds can go from none at all, to blowing like a call girl with a 2 minute time limit.
Be wary of your fins at low tide as the shallow bits are uneven and vary around the bay.
Also be aware of the bridge joining the harbour with the river, as it can take you mast apart as you are blown under it in strong onshore winds.
Launching location is found in the boat marina opposite the council car park, i think day tickets are about 5, but not sure as always been paid for. But is really hot in the summer and i can recomend the pubs in Weymouth, but stay away from the saliors.
