Bout halfway between fairhaven (Lytham) & St.Annes pier is Beach terrace Cafe. Cafe/Car park is seen from beach road & has a gap through the dunes to the beach (where the final 'S' of st.annes is on O/S ormultimap). Needs a fairly high tide (28ft+) but then gives excellent bump & jump (great ramps) with clean wind from South thro' West to NNW winds. Its shallow so only 2hrs+ on water but no mud. Ya can stand up 200yds out & hence often used by Kiters. Head out further to sea & great breaking rollers on sandbank (see salters bank on map) Cafe handy to warm up.
