To get there
Follow the A55 onto anglesea but as soon as you are over the bridge, bear left to get
off the A55, then turn right and go under the bridge. Now follow signs for the A5025, and then follow this all the way up, past red wharf Bay & Benllech. About 10 mins or so past Benllech you get to a mini roundabout - the lligwy beach is signposted straight on down a single track road - follow this and you are there - then 20yds over the dunes to the beach.
What's there? - an excellent venue in easterly winds!
Nothing else though, except the car park and beach - so take some butties and a flask of coffee (maybe a hot drinks vendor there now - i just went again - july 05). The car park is about 5meters from the beach. At low tide I had about 150m walk to the sea.
What's the sailing like?
Good in winds ranging from N to SE (no westerlies). It's starboard tack in SE or E, onshore in E, and port tack NE. On the day I was there it was Easerly, 5.0 weather and the waves were pretty big and powerful (I got 2 good long swims in after getting rinsed) - boom height or more. It was difficult to get out past 'em and there was quite a current nearer the beach - so not the easiest place to sail.... If yer feeling brave however, it was great wave sailing, with some nice long ones which make for good riding in the right wind direction (SE I think is best).

I run the car park and cafe at Lligwy Beach. It is a lovely beach. It is a great spot in easterly winds. If there are ever a group of you coming over to Lligwy you can always give me a call (cheryl, 07796576381) and I can up date you on conditions and make sure the shop is open for hot drinks and snacks. The car park is only chargable between April and September. So come over - you will not be disappointed by Lligwy.
