Hunstanton, known to the locals as "Sunny Hunny", is a classic english seaside town with the world's largest joke shop, for the windless days (even selling whoopee cushions). First, the best bit, it's west facing on the east coast!! So it picks up the prevailing SW winds as cross onshore. I have never seen a true wave but the UKWA does have a freestyle/wave heat event there. More likely there is lots of wind chop. Don't ever go in an easterly, it just doesn't work with the cliffs and touristy sea front, the wind is very gusty - go around to Brancaster. You need to be aware of the tides, though at low tide you can usually just windsurf, it is high which can be difficult to launch as the water breaks onto the 4m high sea wall. There are also the old wooden sea defences for the first 30 yards of beach but these are not a problem for windsurfing ( a real pain for the kites though, except they tend to go further up the coast towards old Hunstanton). Parking is at the sailing club with easy access to the beach (but nearly a tenner!) and unfortunately there is no shop. The nearest shop is in Kings Lynn - surf 55, which is well stocked with windsurf/kitesurf/mountain biking kit! There is also a shop at brancaster but this is more sailing biased. Find it on multimap
