Crosby Marina to the North of Liverpool is an enclosed lake which provides safe flat water blasting
in most wind directions.
It is a 82 acre marina enclosed from the sea by a 15ft wide sand dune. It is about 5.5ft deep and the water is tested every six months, the last one in august which came back as excellent.
The prevailing wind is a westerly good for slalom and speed at the top of the lake and for jumping and freestyle at the bottom.
A strong northwesterly will bring the chop up to 3 or 4ft which is good for jumping, looping etc.
Southwesterlys you can sail the full length of the lake. Southerlys tend to be very gusty so we go up the coast to Blundlesands in front of the coastguard station!! Northerlys tend to be the same as westerlys.
The standard of sailing is very good so for all you budding speed freaks, there are plenty of guys who will give you a run for your money!?.
We often have informal racing at the weekends.
There is a shop on site (SURF-TECH) for spares refreshments etc, there are also chainging rooms and showers, and most important there is a pub 100yds. away for the after sail de-breif
