Cockerham Sands (nr Glasson dock, lancs.) been wearing out me 5.3 & 4.7 sails there this spring/summer.
Anything from SW TO NW comes in clean off the Irish Sea & produces decent bump & jump. Sometimes head high rollers down the channel & decent waves in the adjoining bays. Works in any tide over 7.5m! ie. rivals Fleetwood for time possible on the water
Typically 10 decent sailors & the occasional kite
Chest deep for 50 yds so suits intermediate too
20p for parking & nice views (especially if you are interested in Heysham power station), no other ameneties
head North on M6, come off jct after Forton services. head south & take cockerham signs. head nth towards Thurnham & take Cockerham Sand turn on left. stay right on single lane road (not to caravan park)
