I visited 8/6 - 15/6 on a Jem Hall clinic with Sportif.
Prasonisi is in the middle of nowehere (4
0 mins drive from the airport) & there is bugger all else to do except wind/kite surf and drink beer, so wouldn't advise taking non-windsurfing partner or kids - it's not ideal for learning either due to off shore winds.
The place is almost custom made for wind/kitesurfing - there is a sand spit with flat water/ cross off winds on one side, and good waves/ cross on (more onshore than cross though) on the other side with a short 30m walk between.
On the wave side it's starboard tack on the way out and while I was there the waves made it up to logo high & were a good shape. The great news is that if you're not very confident you can sail straight through the area with the biggest waves & stop on the other side of the bay, turn yer kit round in knee high waves & rip it back through the impact zone again - so a good intro to sailing decent size waves.
The flat side is great for freestyle & the chop gets bigger the futher out u go...
The winds - I was there for a week - 1st 2 days were about Force 2 or 3, next 2 days were force 4 or 5, last 2 days were F6 or 7 - so an ideal spread. I think it's usually around F5 or 6.
Sun - I put factor 50 on every morning & got absolutely fried - it's hot - very hot - u have been warned.......... Factor 50 every hour or so would be my advice.
Water temp - I was wearing a shorty & got pretty chilly - a long leg short arm job would have been better - other people were using everything from just board shorts to a full suit...
There are 3 or 4 windsurfing centres on the beach hiring vast quantities of good quality new kit - mainly JP, Pryde, F2, Fanatic.
There's 2 bars at the end of the road leading to the beach - I only used the one on the right (when looking out to sea) - it was great & did really nice salads & main meals all day - very friendly staff too.
