    Welcome to iWindsurf.co.uk
If you are new to the site and wondering what it's all about there's an introduction here - I try to keep the front page free for displaying latest additions to our various sections.  In short this website is an online community or portal aimed primarily at UK windsurfers offering discussion forums, classified adverts, picture gallery, sailors logs, web links and occasional news stories (They're a bit like buses Wink).  This is no soap box and we are not selling anything (although you can buy a T-Shirt) so get stuck in.

The developers, Carpenter Investments, invite you to contact them directly...

Sarah Beer writes: 'We were interested to read your concerns, but there is a fundamental misunderstanding of our proposal and we'd like to reassure you.
'Principally, far from alienating you, you figure strongly in our scheme. Our proposals for the redevelopment therefore absolutely do not include plans to reduce the size of the lake, its facilities, nor the construction of anything which will reduce wind speeds. Quite the opposite: our proposals show the lake intact, your facilities improved, and no structure on the lake side to impede the wind (even the Sailing School replacement would be low rise).
'Our belief is that the lake is the heart of West Kirby, and its usage should therefore shape any redevelopment. This is not spin: this is the truth as we see it, people who also love this lake, and we invite you to contact us as such at westkirbysail@gmail.com with your views and ideas.'

You might be interested to know that the new designs submitted to the council this week show most of the car park you use to rig in being taken over by Carpenters to use as public car parking with a few spaces reserved for the windsurfers. This is due to the fact that so many spaces will be lost in the Dee lane car park.
I suggest you let the council know if you object before the council meeting next week Apr 9th.
The plans can be seen here http://democracy.wirral.gov.uk/Published/C00000121/M00000358/AI00004133/TheSailAppendix2.pdf
