Those of us who have been sailing for a long time will know that Surf-Tech, based at Croby Marina, has been around for a long time....20 years in fact. So the news that Sefton Council are to re-develop Crosby Marina must surely be good, right....WRONG. The proposed plans for re-development show no room for any kind of shop whatsoever. So after 20 years of keeping the marine lake and the windsurfing scene going almost single handedly Neil now faces eviction Neil has been served an eviction notice. Well my feeling is that this is what this site is all about. Coming together for the common good and supporting each other. At a time when windsurfing needs new blood more than ever, we also need shops who support those of us who want to be on the water. Neil will be objecting to planning permission and would ask you to do the same, on the grounds that the layout of the building does not cater for the present lake users or existing shop, and does not in any way shape or form resemble a watersports centre. . If you are in agreement with the objection to the plans as they are at present you can do one of the following:
* Attend a meeting at the shop this Sunday, August 19th, at 4pm when I will go over our strategy; * Write a letter of objection to: Andy Wallis, Planning & Economic Regeneration Director, Magdalen House, 30 Trinity Road, Bootle, L20 3NJ. * E-mail Andy Wallis at andy.wallis@regen.sefton.gov.uk * Complete the on-line comments form at www.sefton.ov.uk/planapps
The latter three have to be done by Wednesday 29th August 2007
