I remember that event - it was bloody windy !

I know my mate Chris Delves has still got a few of those black speed sails (from that event) that have solid foam down the luff tube which you have to thread the mast up.

I remember watching some of the wipeouts and wincing - except when Phil (Jones ? - used to run the WK sailing school) wiped out and everyone cheered smilies/shocked.gif smilies/shocked.gif

Some of the craft that turned up were really whacky

The clip here reminds me of the a Eurosport video I was given prior to a trip to Tarifa. It featured at the beginning (or was it the end) some of the most painful speed sailing wipeouts I\'ve ever seen - people bouncing/skimming/cartwheelnig for 10-15 meters before finally (painfully, I assume) submerging.

I may still have it...I\'ll see..If I have I\'ll dig it out digitise it and post it up. it may be worth a laugh - might even slow Windy John down a bit.
