Windsurfing Weekend 10&11th May 2008 As part of national windsurfing week. Well the wind didn't blow - but what a fantastic weekend anyway! Around 70 people showed up across the weekend with lots of new faces, new to windsurfing or just new to the club. The sun shone and the rain (mostly) stayed away, great weather for the families picnicking, the evening barbecue and the beginners just starting out on the obsession of windsurfing. With the lake like a millpond at times - paddle racing was the order of the day. A hotly contested head to head knock-out won by Andy from Hollingworth Watersports. Young Danny picked up a prize in the spirit of NWW, the most enthusiastic windsurfer of the weekend - he was on the water at 9am Sunday while most of us were still recovering from the night before. Saturday evening saw live music from "Reservoir Dogs" and a great light show to go with it. As night fell the crew from Hollingworth lit up with a bit of fire juggling and fire breathing. A big thanks to everyone who came and joined in, special thanks to Chas and the rest of the band.
