Killington Reservoir is a lake of approx. 40 ha halfway between Sedbergh and Kendal. It is very easy to get to from Junction 37 on the M6. Turn East on the A684, Take 1st turn Right after 1/4 mile. Then 2nd right after 1/2 mile, follow the lakeshore till you see the new clubhouse on the right.

Access to the lake is via the Sailing Club and requires membership as the clubhouse and car park are generally locked. However, the club has an excellent clubhouse with kitchen, microwave, kettles etc, toilets, changing rooms and hot showers. Membership for windsurfing members is approx £85 for the year(2008 prices, discounts for unwaged) and seems quite reasonable considering the facilities. There is a car park and grassed rigging area next to the lake. There is often longboard racing on a thursday night, although in 2008 this is a bit sporadic. Please contact me (Gill) via this site if you are interested in racing and I can put you in touch with the organiser. The lake works best on a SW or NE, with W and E being the worst directions. As its a lake it can be gusty at times, though it is fairly high up so often gets wind (and close to a wind farm, which is a good sign). For full details of the club, check out www.k-s-a.info
