We've been to Ireland a couple of times and always been lucky with the wind and weather. Brandon Bay is just excellent with at least one of it's beaches facing in the right direction in most wind conditions. Our last trip was in April on a Jem Hall coaching week and was well worth the money. Jem's style is full on and demanding which takes you to levels you didn't expect you could achieve. He's also a great host so every evening after the video feedback session it's off to a local for more windsurfing banter, with Spillanes the venue of choice for most of us. The Jamie Knox setup is perfect for a week of windsurfing as the rooms are well equipped, the showers are hot and the breakfasts are outstanding. The Knox team have a fabulous knowledge of the area and each day recommend the best venue which saves trailing round to find the best spot. The other major benefit is that you can take all your kit on the ferry, so no sacrifices in terms of choice, which is always a bit of a downer when taking the plane. We went Anglessey to Dublin which is only a couple of hours and last year we actually managed to exit Dublin in one, so the drive to Brandon Bay was easy. We had six out of seven days of quality wind and on the windless day Jem had everyone surfing which really helped understand the waves a bit more. The week finished with mast high, force 6/7 madness. highly recommended.
