    Welcome to iWindsurf.co.uk
    If you are new to the site and wondering what it's all about there's an introduction here - I try to keep the front page free for displaying latest additions to our various sections.  In short this website is an online community or portal aimed primarily at UK windsurfers offering discussion forums, classified adverts, picture gallery, sailors logs, web links and occasional news stories (They're a bit like buses Wink).  This is no soap box and we are not selling anything (although you can buy a T-Shirt) so get stuck in.

    Greetings all

    My development 'plan' got rearranged slightly this week when lot's of spam started getting posted as comments to our articles advertising some rather unsavoury (but interesting SealedInnocent) things.

    As a result I've installed a new comments system (all old comments preserved) which has two advantages;

    1) it uses 'captcha' images which means you have to enter some letters &/or numbers from an image into a box before your comment will be posted

    2) it uses AJAX technology (don't use it on your board, it'll scratch Wink) whichmeans it will update immediately without the page reloading - smart heh.

    I also got distracted the other day and ended up installing the google maps feature so now we can show the locations of all the venues for which we have reviews as well as the location of all our users - yes YOU - the instructions are on the page - use the link on the main menu or click here .

    Now I'm going to get on with sorting out the equipment pages for the sailors logs and supply a tab on peoples profiles which displays the equipment they have entered.

    Hopefully not long after that I will implement SEO friendly URL's (Undecided) - what the hell are they? - wait and find out...

    as usual your comments appreciated and your ideas...
