Yesterday saw the first day of competition here at Weymouth with good winds (I was out on my 5.3 freeriding) and some very good sailors!

WKs own WindyJohn dominated the fleet and came out first windsurfer with a massive 35.76 average speed over 500m beating Dave White into second. WJ was however just beaten by a kitesurfer who broke the course record with over 36 knots. Other stars include Carl Miller who came in at 12th position (managing just 2 runs before a big crash unfortunately put him out for the rest of the day). Carl is out again today and frothing for a good position.

Nick Brumfitt and Mark Heyford are also out, and considering how different the conditions are to their normal spots are both doing incredibly well. Neil Hardwick is also fighting hard, recording some good speeds and more notably being recognized as a very good sailor by some of the best sailors in the world.

The wind is steadily increasing today, Bjorn is out trying to regain his Weymouth crown and all the WK boys are giving it some serious welly!

Long range forecasts predict that Friday will be the day, and with the Weymouth record gone and $1000 up for grabs courtesy of Da Kine, it looks like it'll be a stormer!
