Any one off to Ireland in the next couple of months ?

Looking to go for the first time this autumn. Any hints or tips for what to watch out for or windsurf friendly B&B's or pubs ? Think the place will have changed a bit since I was there on my honymoon 30 years ago

ROHO are running a trip mid october. £250 all in with B&B at Knox's place travel in shop van with your kit. Plentiful cheap accomodation (we paid £120 for 3 bed bungalow on the end of the peninsula in 2001) as long as you avoid the world cup. Acepted procedure seems to be see the landlady (Margret I think) at Spilanes Pub and she rings round to sort out rental for you. Worth looking at flying out and hiring a car for the week, even with kit carrage charges (£15 each way) it can work out cheaper than the ferry.

Sounds like a good deal, ferry is at least £200 for a car etc. but how many are they looking to squeeze into a van ?
Must give them a call on Monday for more details.

we might be going first week of nov. We have been going every year for the last few at this time of year. What we do is book a cottage/ferry deal on the net. Have had less luck this year finding accomodation in Castlegregory though. Our usual place seems to not exist anymore! Still, its not the only spot. Let us know how you get on.

Rang ROHO up today and was told they are already in Ireland this week so looks like I've missed out on that one.
