when i was in leucate, i decided to actually get a skimboard since i had done it before and really caught on to it after riding a 'borrowed' board. (i gave it back) what you have to do is: when the shore break comes in, wait for it to go back a bit and charge at the thin _layer_ of water with the board, throw it on the water so it is skimming, then jump on it and fly! if you start to get good, you can skim toward the next wave and jump off it!! you go fastest when the water it about the height of your pinky. (make sure the wind isnt too strong, because then the board flies back and cracks you in the face.)

Wow - I am impressed - I had a vague idea what it was about, but didnt know they actually caught waves too!! That looks cracking fun - except for the last clip - I bet that muppet had some serious whiplash, and very long arms!!

its great! after about 15 mins you should be able to ride some skim and do some spins and stuff. Its serious fun, i advise you buy one, but you need to wax it otherwise you just slip off. its like falling on grass. i had loads of bruises on my hips, but then again, i was trying to invent my own move.

i dont understand those guys! if u wanted to ride waves, - surf! its the skimming on wafer thin water at high speeds thats cool!

Yerp its all good until you wipe out!! Or crack into someone else with the same lack of control! I've had many bruises and a broken toe lol its good at WK if you catch it just after the tides gone out nice wide shallow parts.
