There was a home made board on ebay recently - looked more like mountain board wheels and deck than skate board though.
General advise seems to be to use a smallish sail and rig that your not worried about getting trashed.

i guess wind-skateing is pretty good fun and it certainly improves your manouvers, however inless you have a pretty expensive skate board or more to the point trucks bearings and wheels you will find that the wind needed for skateing isn't actually much less than what you can be planeing on the water in. Anyway give it a try, west kirbys probably the best look for between 10-15 kts of wind is about right i find with a 5m. oh and don't hit any cars!!!!!!!!!

i really wanna see what its like! il give it a go. i think that mountain board thing is made for practicing windsurfing on dirt. there was an article on it in boards about nick acgazcian. they cost about £250, so i dont think il be getting that.

our mate lee loves his windskating... he's _base_d down in swindon for his sins, since access to the waters so difficult he often goes for a windskate on the car park at work. I've seen him out in about a force 3 or 4 its hilarious. Pulling off some lovely carve gybes an all. I'll see if i can get him to come on and give you any pointers. he's got some sort of sooper dooper all terrain scateboard that he's drilled a hole in.
