Can we have a list of the most expensive/painful wipeouts known to man. I'll kick it off with Sunday's effort at rhos.



I broke my mast extension gybing (50), which shot off the top of my UJ and through my board's deck (???) right down to the foam. In the melee of spray and pain that followed, my fin went through my sail (60 repair on a five day old sail - gutted), and i nearly broke my leg (well it felt like it - it's a bit bruised). Then i had the humiliating experience of being towed in by a jet ski (price to ego... 50,000).



The suspect extension that caused all the damage was Neil Pryde.

No can't beat that.



Although the time Bert had to get me in from the far side of Hilbre Island was a humiliating experience !



By the way - serves you right for not telling everybody on the site you were off to Rhossey and getting a charabang oragnaised along the A55.

Breaking stuff is all part of the fun, although i'll never be ablt to windsurf with the best i reckon that i could probably break kit with the best. If you don't break something every now and agin then your not trying hard enough. Rhosneigher has also stolen a few pounds out of my pocket as well, over 500 for a new wave board and countless booms(my booms always break in rhossy??). However, this is what we have insurance for, magically the broken board turned into a new board, two sails and a mast.
