boom clamp will not grip mast 3 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 4  
I have a couple of old (7 years) booms. The clamps are too big to grip my new masts.



They will close enough to touch the mast but even when adjusted to the smallest setting they will not grip enough to use.



I would appreciate advice ( apart from the obvious buy a new boom)



Adaptors, tape, some sort of packing material ???

Neil Pryde used to supply mast protectors wth there booms , you could try a dealer ask if they have any and take your gear along to try it possible .

Gun do 'mast protectors' for a fiver, which might do the trick

I just used to jam a bit of rubber in between the two, it worked for me aslong as the boom was tight enough!

Wooo Hooo - looks like another grrreat use for my favourite windsurfing accessory - DUCKTAPE!!! Round yer mast, each time you go sailing?
