Going up to Grimwith this morning but have to be away for Noon, Dave Whitehead is going up for the afternoon.

I managed to sail for an hour this morning at Grimwith res, wind speed was pretty much as XC said at Leeds 40mph gusting to 60mph from WSW.



One guy was just packing up having been blown off the water on a 4.5m. He had been sailing bare foot?? which is insane as the forshore consists of sandstone boulders and the water is exceedingly cold. He was visiting from the SOUTH, perhaps they have some anti bootie wearing bylaw downthere?



I had only packed three sails the largest of which was 4.5m. As expected I used the samllest I have 3.5m and 70 litre wave board, even with this sheeting in was not an option most of the time! The lake was boiling with a confusion of spray, waves and mini rainbows against the sunlight, challenging but enjoyable sailing and the lake to myself.
