Does anyone know what the latest is on kitesurfing and land buggying around WK since the death at southport? Is there still a restriction.

There's never been a restriction on WK beach for either, although the buggies are rare - I can only recall seeing any of them out on one occasion.

I have a small land yacht and there are two issues which i have encountered when trying to use it at west kirby.



1/ Bird watchers, there is certain areas on the beach that are for birds only, which unfortunately are the areas of hardest sand. If the birdwatchers complain to the warden he will come and remove you. Best time to avoid this is at time when there is not many people around.



2/ Since the accident at southport, to use my landyacht I have to be a member of hoylake landyachting club, with insurance. it is not too expensive but it does mran i have to do it at hoylake not west kirby. As for buggys i suspect that its is the same, you will probably get away with it if there in only one but once there is a few thats when problems will occurr.



Hoylake landyachting club are on the web, so look them up. they were pretty friendly to me.
