How to buy a new board.. 4 Years, 9 Months ago Karma: 0
Can anybody give me some advice on buying a new board....

My current board is out of the ark (you can guess what it is).. and I am determined to replace it this year.

I've got a shortlist _base_d on stats and recent reviews. All around 105 litres .. 250 - 260 long and around 60 ish wide. .. but How to decide.......

Surely I'd be daft to buy without trying first ...

Any body know of any good demo days coming up this year? I planned to go to a couple last year but the wind didn't show.

Adagio,

What part of the country are you from ?

Trying before you buy is always a good policy. it helps ease the pain of parting with a lot of money.

Certainly in the West Kirby area D-Spot run demo's and I know John is looking to run one fairly soon too.

Surf -Tech at Crosby Marina had two last year and I'd guess he'll probably be running them again this year.

Most shops worth their salt will try to get you a demo of a board you're interested in. best thing is to talk to our local shop and see if you can get a go of a number of boards.

Ern.

Down South .... and rather a long way from any where here in Hertfordshire (not known as a top wave sailing location)...

I know the places you are referring to though as I used to live in Lancashire.

You've confirmed that I really need to try some stuff. Its all right if you can try a load of boards whilst on a windsurfing holdiy but I am somewhat family constrained in that area so I think Vass, Tariffa, Tiree, Dahab etc will have to wait.

I'm off to my local friendly shop now..
