I am woundering if anyone out there is interseted in going to Vassilliki this Summer. I am going with a 8 Memebers of West Wirral Windsurfing club. This trip is not a club trip or anything like that,(2 people who sail west kirby are going also) it is the opportinity to sail and socialise with poeple you know (sailors of West Kirby) in consistant conditions. I organised a trip there about 6 years back and 29 windsurfers went - I was great!!



To clarifiy I am not orgainising this one but helping those going with details and references so that we are all on the same plane and in the same apartments. should any one be interested let me know and I will give you full details.



Most people are going for 2 weeks but regardless if it is 1 or 2 weeks you are interested in we are all going from manchester Airport on Sunday 6th July.

Have you got any breakdown of costs, or board hire etc info.... Could be interested if it is cheap enough!!

The details for the Windsurfers of West Kirby Summer trip to Vassiliki are as follows:

Flights from Manchester on Sunday 6th July at 14.30hrs and Accomodation at Athina studios and apartments booked with Kosmar (Hoilday ref L4604) at Lunn Polly.



Costs for 1 week = 299 per person

Costs for 2 weeks = 379 per person



Windsurf hire for 1 week with club Vass = 160

Windsurf hire for 2 weeks with club Vass = 300

Am working! not much I can do about that- never mind. I reckon it might be a uk winsurfing hol fro me. Has anyone got any suggestions. I have been to Exmouth for a week and it was amazing, also sailed in cornwall (Northern), Rock, Polzeath, Daymer Bay etc all of these were good. Does anyone have a favourite spot, anywhere to get a week or two in on the cheap?? What is Tyree Like? Borth? Hayling island? Worthing? West Wittering? Shoreham? etc C'Mon lets have a straw poll to find out the best location in the UK! (Easy way for me to do some holiday research- get you lot to do it for me!!! Cheers!

Venues!!!

I went to Tiree last year in October. It was very very windy and really good waves. It is a bit barren... one pub which is not the best! and one shop on the island.

Not the best place for a holiday but great for a weeks sailing!



Hayling.. I live there! It is great for kiting, Windsurfing, The seafront at low tide and if you don't like shorebreak the harbour at high tide. There are loads of cheap holiday parks there too! Also the nightlife of Southampton and Portsmouth is not too far away.



Cornwall.. We go to Marazion quite a bit and sail there and at Gwithian. It is great when the wind blows and if you want a weeks holiday in UK I would def. choose southern Cornwall over other venues.



Borth... been there too!!! Bit dull apart from the amusing chicken feet prints that go through the high sraight for miles and eventually end up in the village butchers, bizarre! Borth is nothing special!



The area around Poole is pretty good as you can go to Kimmeridge, Poole, Weymouth, Christchurch all within an hours drive.



Well this may help you and give you some ideas! Oh, also went to Tarifa last year and that was the best by far on a cheap scale!! Went to Barnados in December and that was even better but more expensive, stayed at Silver Sands hotel and went with virgin holidays... cool waves!

God, you get around a bit... cheers for the info though, have been trying to talk my partner into going to Tiree, but if it as bleak as it sounds I would probably not be flavour of the month.. Cornwall sounds like the best bet- Is south much better than North?? Also a little confused Silver sands resort owned by Barnardo's- Those orphans have way too much fun!! All this info is useful though.. if anyone else has had a great british holiday, let me know please...Ta! Exmouth is the best place I have sailed in England. Had more fun and better sailing all round in a week in Exmouth than I did in two weeks in Moon Beach- No Spiny Normans either!
