Is the Hilbre Island wind speed indication correct? Just as a spot check this morning shows around 12-13 knots yet the lake looks like a mill pond. XC weather indicates 7mph. I suppose I'll have to rely on phoning up.

Hilbre proudman always seems to be about 5 knots higher than what my personal meter reads at WK but then it is much higher up on the island and on top of a pole, may be this makes a difference?

Yes, I think it would, and also that it is further out into the estuary. It's just something to bear in mind when making a decision to turn up or not. Cheers.
