Hey everyone,
Hope this post won't look like a promotion, but if it does, please accept my apologies & delete it.
I'm not sure whether this information will be of any use for anyone, but still I decided to write a little about a windsurfing school in Hersonissos (Crete, Greece). I've been on vacation there, but the weather wasn't too good for me — I'm only a beginner, so I can't really handle the sail in a strong wind or on big waves...
Still, the base is situated in St. George bay, between "Royal Mare Village" and "Cretan Village" hotels. However, it seems to be the only base which offers windsurfing in Hersonissos (correct me if I'm wrong), so I had to walk quite a long way there, but it was a pleasure anyway.
They have quite a lot of different equipment, the smallest sail is 2.7, and there were about 10 sails in total:

What I didn't like there, is that windsurfers have to surf in the same area where common people bathe. I find it annoying, because people don't realize how heavy the board is, and how hard it can be to stop or turn. They don't even try to get out of your way, they just float there and gawk at you, like you're the only one responsible for the safety.
However!!! They have a jetski, and if you need, it can drag you far away, where there are no people. They also watch the windsurfers and send the jetski to bring the dummies back if they're in trouble (what happened to me :-D)
To whom it may concern: the aforementioned hotels have some activities for kids. I don't know their rates though, never bothered.
