Seal watching trips 12 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 1
I know this isn't windsurfing related but I'd like to let you know about the seal watching trips we are starting to run from the Wirral Sailing Centre.

You may have friends or family who may be interested.

The Rangers used to run day trips from Thurstaston in a small day boat, which were very successful, this stopped when the then head ranger left.

We have been talking about doing these sort of trips for years, so Liz has done all the research for it and the council have agreed for us to go a head. We have had the big 6.3m RIB coded so we can take up to 8 people out on the Estuary, to look for seals and other wild life, life jackets are provided and there is a 12 man liferaft on the boat as well.

We ran two training runs on Wednesday and Thursday last week with some of the Rangers on board, these were very successful, as we saw 40 plus seal and lots of Terns feeding right out in the middle of the Estuary. The feed back was very positive from the Rangers and the RSPB warden. The trips will run when the wind strength is less than force 5 so we won't be running trips when you guys are out on the tide.

So if you want to see the Estuary when it isn't windy and from another prospective or you know of anyone who does, then give the Centre a call on 0151 625 3292 for dates and times, prices start from £25 for 2 hours.
