windsurfing holiday insurance 2 Years ago Karma: 21
Hi all,
just clicked on the new front page link to "Holiday Extras Windsurfing Insurance" and without actually 'phoning them up it just looks to me like a standard holiday insurance policy and probably more expensive than the last few insurances I've found for roughly the same benefits.
Now luckily I've never needed to make a claim for windsurfing related incidents (unlike sailing related incidents, and I can honestly say the A&E care in Bodrum, Turkey was every bit as good as in the UK but without the 4 hour wait and subsequent outpaitient visits were attended to within less than 5 minutes of the appointment times)
So is there any windsurfing insurance that anyone can recomend from having to use in an emergency while on holiday, or conversely any to steer well clear of?

Hi Ken

I insure my kit with Viking, and they regularly send me flyers for their holiday insurance with my kit policy. I've never taken them up on it, nor indeed ever tested them by claiming on my kit policy, but they do bill themselves as windsurf friendly:

You could also try Snowcard, they cover allsorts of sports not just ski-ing & snowboarding.

Have my 3rd party windsurf insurance with Viking but on my last sailing/windsurfing holiday their holiday insurance wouldn't cover us for 3rd party liability for dinghies or yachts. Noble marine can tailor insurance to cover pretty much anything you like.
By studying the small print and some follow up phone calls I have found some standard holiday insurances which will provide the same cover at a much lower premium but I have no idea how claims would be handled.
