So does that mean we're going to have to disclose our vital stats too? Weight, height etc After all equipment choice depends on the size of the user. I don't keep a log but often look at the met websites after sailing to check windspeeds etc. It would be nice to compare what I was using compared to other sailors, but I'd need to know how I compared to them too (size wise).

Mike2dogs- It would be interesting to compare sailor sizesas you say, the personal details may be a problem. We may be able to use the same format as the magazines do.

How about allowing people to simply download the data (using date / location or sailor filters) so they can manipulate in excel? You can then use a pivot table to create any view you want (I'm sure there is a way of doing this using some fancy HTML stuff, but I'm hopeless with that stuff)

Always thought the main benefit of the sailors logs was going to be the ability to produce personal reports…

- Selectable date range (e.g allows wk sailors to run a report April 08- March 09….etc)

- Sail and board usage over that period of time.

- Comparison of what kit other’s were using during the same session (average)

- Given that windspeed is only a personal estimate – an average of what people are estimating.

- Maybe the option to allow those who have wind speed monitors to enter an accurate reading at a particular time ????

- A flag to say whether or not your session is published for public viewing. Stats stills accumulate though….

- The ability to enter ‘borrowed kit’ i.e. not from your own quiver.

- Delete old kit

- Ability to print any report

A front page league table for most sessions/most hours on the water in the past week/month/year

Having just had a quick look after not using them for an age I think some of these suggestions have been implemented – but I’ll leave ‘em in the lsit.
