Mauritius Le Morne 2 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi All

If anyone is looking at a visit to Le Morne in Mauritius I just posted some stuff on my site about some of the self catering apartments available there in La Gaulette which is about 3km away from the spot itself if your not up for the full on Indian Resort experience. Also posted a spot guide with a lot of infos about the waves, currents etc there.

As well as the above there are a few videos from Mauri my regular blog posts and some archive stuff from Dahab so hope its useful.

Good vibes and happy sailing.

I can vouch for the quality of the village and some of this accommodation, me and the wife stayed there at marisa and le benitier on our honeymoon, it was run by a super freindly guy called Ben. Top quality and loads and loads cheaper than staying at the mistral hotel. Some fine local restraunts in la gallette too!!! Enjoy!!! Cant see me doing it any time soon again as i have a beautiful 3 day old daughter on my knee as i type!!!

Cheers fella, she is the biz. Though a little noisy at 3-7 in the morning, but somehow I don't seem to mind!!!
You still doing the stockport rhossy commute?
moving to the coast was a good move, I have my nearest spot 2 miles away and have a choice of 4 solid launch spots in 25mile radius......you know it makes sense!! (though somehow, I am still crap!!)

Yeah - sounds like you & the Mrs made a grand move! I'd be a happy man with a beach 2 mins away! I'd even buy me a dirty dog to take for walks on it!

I've not been to Rhossy much of late (cant say I miss the drive & petrol bill!), mainly because I'm ashamed to say I have been lured over to the darkside and spend most of my time dangling around the brown foamy breaks of Blackpool instead, which takes about 55 mins (45 on really windy & sunny days - strange how a strong headwind has that effect!?).

I windsurfed about 2 weeks ago for the 1st time in nearly a year and felt like the tendons in my arms had been extended by about 3 inches - i forgot how punishing it is! Still managed a forward first run out though, and they still feel good

Am in Rhossy for a week starting next Wednesday looking after a mates house and dog it best be windy! Can't wait.

Good luck with the ankle biter matey - she'll be flying past you on the water before you know it! Hehe.
