Once you have downhauled & outhauled it to the max, & probably done irreparable damage to your back by slipping 3 disks - with the sail flat on the floor, press downwards on the batten you are trying to pop on, so it bends in the same way it would when filling with wind. You might need to press pretty hard. This should reduce the pressure of the cam on the mast somewhat & may enable you to then pop it back on whilst still pushing down. This technique made it much easier to do on my 5.8 - hopefully it will also work on your monster sail.?
Or Ebay it & buy a RAF.

Hi folks thanks for all the advice Shawn I have tried as you suggested and if 15 stone kneeling on the battens can't pop them on nothing will!!!!!!!!! I think Mark may be correct that its the mast that is the problem so I will have a go at the cams. Also the site Gopher suggested says to put the mast in the cams but only downhaul it 80% then outhaul it 100% before adding the rest of the downhaul so I will try that as well See you down the lake soon I hope!!!!
