We're organising a Forces-of-Nature 'trip' to Borth for the weekend of October 4th-5th 2003. (we'll make it a long weekend if anyone can manage that).
As usual, everyone is welcome, bring all your toys, and hopefully we'll have some wind and waves so that we can use them.
Theres loads to do at Borth and its perfect for windsurfing, surfing, kite-surfing and land-_base_d sports such as land-sailing and kite-buggying. Theres also a surf contest planned at Borth for that weekend (surf permitting), with a prize draw of a trip to Indonesia!!
Take a look here for full details. Theres already quite a few people booked up for the trip, but the more the merrier!
If you don't know much about the area then theres loads of info elsewhere on the Forces-of-Nature site. Hope to see you all there, and if you can't make it, then do us a favour and pray for wind anyway!!
Al.

Just a quick update.... it looks as thought here should be some nice NW's for this weekend, and it looks as though there should be about 40 people turning up for the weekend at Borth, so hopefully we are all in for a good weekend on the beach and in the pub!
See you there.

As you have your own website which I guess is well subcribed why do you the insist on advertising on this one?
Is it because your poaching?
Is it your site doesn't have as many members?
And I for one am sick of hearing all about Borth, if it was that good why does the tour not go there? Rhossy has the tour, tells me something.....
Anyway, I think I might doing something here this weekend, Sail - no, Kayak - no, Open Canoe - no, Climb - no, BMX - no, Wake Board - no, Windsurf - yeh, all on my door step and theres never a crowd......
I think I might start a website and promote it here...
USE YOUR OWN SITE...!!!

Sorry Cookie-Monster. I was just letting people know about it who may not have visited my site. I thought that was the whole point of these sites, to keep windsurfers informed of things that are going on.
I wasn't poaching, my site has been up and running for years and has a perfectly healthy membership from all over the UK, many of whom, like me, visit a number of windsurfing related sites and don't see them as competition.
I can stop posting here if you like, but I don't really see what the problem is.

Well, I like to see the news on this site about West Kirby, but I also like to see what's happening elsewhere. So I say,' Keep posting Justal', particularly as this site says UK Windsurfers Online Community on its heading. After all, no-one has to read your posts if they are not interested!
Speaking of crowds and the merits of different locations (as Cookie Monster does). Much as I like West Kirby, the lake is a bit restrictive in a North Westerley and can be quite crowded. And when was the last spring tide on a windy weekend? Rhosneigr can also feel crowded between dodging the rocks and the kite surfers. I'm tempted by Borth because I know there will be loads of space but I am told it does get a bit gnarly in strong Westerleys.
The good news is that Windguru is showing strong winds on Saturday, and next week as well. See you on the water somewhere!
Johmo
