ShawnGetting there. Well assuming you're taking kit, that means the Calmac ferry, which sails from Oban and takes about four hours. Not as bad as it sounds as it's a very scenic journey, usually with a big fry-up involved. Depending on the ferry time, you might want to break the journey and overnight in Oban itself, which is quite a pleasant little town.
http://www.calmac.co.uk/Accomodation depends on how many of you are going and what you're looking for I guess. The normal option is to rent a cottage. Many are windsurfer friendly, but there are apparently some who have had bad experiences in the past. The island is small and you'll be driving to the sailing spots wherever you stay, so the main locational consideration will be whether you need to stay near the pub or not.
Willy Angus at Wild Diamond would be good for advice on where to stay. He runs windsurfing on the island and is also a 'true' islander, so knows what's what. He runs a camp site too.
