Windwatcher gives sailable wind directions and a de_script_ion of the area, just click on the dots next to the location. Make sure that you select Wales - North/Cumbria (or wherever) in the current view drop down box becuase it defaults to Cornwall and then clicking the dots doesn't work.

Yep, thanks, I'm a fan of Windwatcher too, but there are a lot of locations round here that it doesn't cover. I'd like a list that fills in some of the gaps. Maybe the info could be added to Windwatcher, as Dan suggests. I'm also interested in views on what's the best place to head in a particular direction, rather than just where 'goes green' in Windwatcher terms.
PS I'm experienceing some forum gremlins again. Anyone else?

mmm shouldn't be too difficult to cobble up a spreadsheet/ready reckoner giving recommended venues for each wind direction & state of tide, even a _link_ to each iwindsurf venue de_script_ion. Better still would be an alert e-mail automatically sent out to a mailing list (from iwindsurf of course) making a call when conditions look good...... not that I'm volunteering...

Yep, I'm sure the tool is doable. It may even just be a list.
It's the content that I'd struggle with. Hence interest in folk's top picks for each direction. The other approach is of course to comb through all the guides and class locations by direction (and I'm getting some interesting venue ideas from that), but that doesn't quite get me there. Venues A and B may both be shown as working well in a N on a guide, but that doesn't help with understanding whether I would therefore best choose A or choose B.
