I read in the last weeks paper (wirral globe page 10) that there are plans to build a multi storey car park on the site of the fire station to make up for lost spaces if a hotel is built.

Are the Hotel footing the bill for this development?

I would guess a multi storey carpark is an astronomical cost for the council which is clealy _link_ed to a hotel that very few people want (certainly that live in this area anyway).

Funds are obviuosly available and secondly could this money be better spent elswhere?

There is a meeting scheduled for 19th in Black Horse Hill Primary school on the 19th at 7pm, I found out about it from a local councillor. Pesonally I've not seen any advanced publicity for it in the local papers, please correct me if anyone already knows about it.

Like captain Nemo I would like to find out funding arrangements, for the other unpopular developments, and see if they could be redirected towards the necessary improvements to the Markine Lake.

There's some new pictures on egret wests web site, looks like they've created scale models. The car parking on the lake is still gone. To read the text drag down the little arrow, it's actually a scroll bar.

I also went to the meeting the other day, of those who attended the meeting (about 150) only one person was in favour. Two councilors came out against it, and said that if we wanted to stop it we were on our own and could not expect any support from the council for independent surveys etc.

Greater Councourse development, it slipped out that a new Waitrose will be built behind the councourse, funding will replace the doctors and firestation, they would also like to replace the Train Station shops, but they are privately owned. No wonder news of the Aldi has been denied.
Cafe in Coronation Park (Sunset Lounge), to be replaced with a new development
Board Walk between West Kirby and Hoylake along the beach, I can't see this lasting long it either be buried by the sand or washed away.

I pressed them on the parking issue and it turned out they were considering double decker parking behind the hotel, with the lower storey dug down by a metre. I can't see this on the new pictures and heard that they can't build a basment due to pressure from the fall and rise of the water table caused by the tides. They also did not deny herring bone parking on the prom, reducing the width of the pavement. It would be nice if they came clean with the whole plan, logically you could see a one way system being introduced to allow the concourse development.

Parking next to the lake still seems to be there in the piccies - although it might be smaller, hard to tell

I should have said that the car parking on the marine lake is still reduced on the scale models. Obviously the council carpark is not there, it's now a hotel.
