Robthe - do you fancy writing a short article for the front page or would you like me to? - then we can start getting some interest?

In terms of interest - I'm up for it, even happy to help out organising as long as I can still sail.

In terms of safety I guess you've got to listen to what the guy says but I don't think its totally relevant. If you don't organise it as a race its easier to keep everyone together and we wouldn't be doing upwind legs by choice so two support boats should be plenty, front one keeps the front guys in sight, other one brings up the rear. Everyone looks out for each other and signals for help if someone needs it.
Cribby did 100 miles through busy shipping channels with one support boat that couldn't actually keep up. We're planning on what 8 miles each way?

Biggest problem will be weather I reckon, chances are conditions just wont be right on the weekend but if we organise some demo stuff I reckon it should be a decent weekend/day anyway

Sorry, not updated anyone with more information on whats happening, i really want to see this event happen but it needs the wind, it may be a better idea if we run two events a demo say and a hiho to wales,

we could do the hiho event on a weekend with a red amber go system but this would require no safety boats but that should not be a problem more a casual blast over and back, as long as everyone takes sometype of safety device (e.g mobile phone)

for the demo day if anyone up for it we should try and organise that asap 13 14 of ocotober is still great dates with nothing else major planned in the windsurf calander,

Dee Sc club said we could borrow there bar with we get for than 100people for a evening party

I like the sound of this more and more.
Windsurfing with some demo kit and then a party afterwards!
