New Speed Board 1 Year, 7 Months ago Karma: 1
After spending all winter on a three legged Yak in Tibet the head Shaper from Emsworth Custom Boards has finally finished the third Shaguar speed board.

I have posted the photies of the finished product and all the photos we took while building the board on www.windyjohn.com (just because gmail gives free web space)

All i need now is a force 8+ to get the bugger going!

Wow, pretty Rad. You might need a parachut to slow that baby down at the end of each run. Hope the force 8 comes soon.

Cheers

"She?" looks a beaut Windy. Great build sequence photos on your web.

What are the approx dims of the board? and what fin choice are you going for? (apologies for being nosey )

I'll be there for her maiden blast (with the vidcam)

Hopefully towards the end of April the wind will return. I had a gut feeling that freezing sunday would be the last of the wind for a long time! I should have made an effort with the 6m

Three legged Yak in Tibet ? I spent the winter waiting for Windy John to find a weekend when he wasn't 'working' (ie, sailing), and giving some sort of sailor input into the design process!

In terms of the dimensions of the board, she is 225cm long and 41 cm wide. Volume of this one is substantially less than Shaguar I, despite the similar width. I weighed the foam core (which has a known density), and estimate the volume of the board at 40 ltrs, which equates to 36 ltrs of buoyancy. OPH, you should definately get the vidcam out for the maiden speed runs, although I imagine the first 3 hours of footage will be spent watching Windy John learning to waterstart after a winter on the pies and ale !

Anyone interested in the build process, or the full story and background to the Shaguar Boards, its all on ecboards.co.uk.

Cheers, Mark.

Thats one amazing looking board! Looking forward to seeing her fly! Nice work Mark!

Lots of Windy talk in there - what does PHW stand for? What does MIUAYGA stand for? I know what ATM stands for, and I think I know what DFB stands for... Hilarious!
