My monthly question for our annual holiday venue guide - if you were to go on a Windsurfing holiday this month where would you go. Even better if you are going this month please come and tell us afterwards what it was like and how much wind you had.

Just got back from El Medano - 3 days good windsurfing out of five wearing just a pair of shorts - although the wind isn't guarenteed at this time of year it's got to be on the list. Will post a more detailed report and a few pics soon.

consider morrocco, we went out there this summer.. not sure what the wind stats are like in november. should still be nice and warm. we flew to marrakech and got the bus over to essouaria which is v. v. good for windsurfing. they have a club mistral and some others that hire mainly jp, mistral, f2 kit. the locals are REALLY friendly. marrakech is a bit of hassle but the people in the beach resorts are cool. we stayed in v. nice b and bs/hotels, ate out at amazing restaurants, travelled for 10 nights for less than £300 all in. if your serious email me for more. I'd like to get a card out to one of our mates in one of the hire shops, don't think a postcard to izzy in morrocco would normally make it!

We've just come back from Dahab, Egypt. We had 7 decent days windsurfing out of 14 in shorts and on 5.7m sails or less (and if 8m sails are your bag then we could got a few more days). Apparantly 50% success is unusual and it's normally much higher; indeed this current week has been 4.2m weather every day.
You can get cheap flights to Sharm el Sheikh with excel airways from Manchester or Gatwick (or Fly Jet from Newcastle), they'll carry a "windsurfer" for £45 return and Club Dahab offer kit storage at very reasonably prices.
Taxi to Dahab (a 100km journey) is about £15. You can also get accom from as little as £7 a night. Food, booze and taxis are also very cheap so all in all, it's a much cheaper holiday than you think although the 5.5hour flight is a bore.
Mainly flat water, but if you head out beyond the reef you can also get some sizeable swell all be it wind blown!
As with Ken, I'll post a more detailed report and some photos soon!

hey suze - what dates did you go to morocco so that I can put it against the correct month(s)?
MRG - when you say that you "Just got back" does that mean that you were there in October and November? - if so I'll record Dahab against both months.
Ken - same question, should I put El Medano down for Oct & Nov as well - where did you stay in the end?
MRG & Ken - look forward to the pics - let me know if you have any problems uploading.
