Can any one describe how to do a back loop ?

Is there a good video or DVD ?

How difficult are they to do ?

How safe are they to learn ?

Thanks

Steve.

I'll echo thoose questions... haven't pulled one off properly yet but I've landed in the waterstart position a couple of times (i.e. flat on my back). Haven't hurt myself yet attempting them mind:

Anyway, thus far I've discovered a few things:

Hit the steepest wave I can find, just beginning to head up wind as I do so.

Then as soon as the tail has left the wave, lean back, sheet in with the front hand and throw body around.

Most violent bit is just as sail is backwinded, speed helps here.

Then stay tucked up and you kind of rotate around naturally

Watch your nose/face on the boom when landing

Then check limbs to check alls working before swimming after kit to try again...

So where am I going wrong?

Its easier and safer if you go for a high vertical jump but then swing the board round into the wind in a horizontal plane. that way there is less risk of landing on your gear. If you just throw your self backwards once in the air all the rotaion will be vertical meaning that in the decent you will be above your gear which can be painfull. It is a nicer view doing them verticaly though . You are looking at the wave then your in the air all you can see is sky , more sky then you are looking back at where you came from and the beach, then you see the water then BANG you hit it. Great fun.

aup lads and lasses i am leaning to i am rotate ok bet the landing is hard as any on got any tips but to try and help any on i find the best way is to hit the wave ant at the same time carve in to the wind so the wind pushes the nose over your head looking over your fonrt shoulder and spot your landing then explode i know that you land nose fairst but tend fuck it up here
