hello again. pretty confident with my freeride. going to have a try at surfing some waves. just wanted to know why the sails are slimmer? thanks rob

Hi Rob.

I assume that by 'slimmer', you mean having a shorter boom lenth relative to the height of the sail (known as "higher aspect ratio")

The intention is to make the sail more manoeuverable and easier to handle in transitions, which comes at the expense of some stability. The foot of a wave sail will also normally be higher, so there's less risk of it catching a wave.
